Moving to Mexico
Moving To Mexico
Alot of major businesses have major interests in Mexico, General Motors has a production line in Mexico, GE has also a large manufacturing plant etc. Alot of these companies move their employees from the states to Mexico.
Mexico can be a wonderful experience especially for your kids, It offers a rich culture, Friendship and great education for your kids. but you have to do some research. Alot of major companies offer this free service but it is limited, they try to make it as limited as possible, of course they dont want to lose an employee to another company. so therefore they will only provide you with the necessary info. to and from work, a general school for your kids and let you pretty much discover Mexico on your own which like in every country there are bad parts and good parts.
Major cities you will likely end up. Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City these are the three cities where major corporations concentrate their business. and all three offer all good schools, good food and safe housing. You think you have everything under control and as soon as you walk off American Airlines you soon ask yourself what the heck did you get yourself into?
Unlike the U.S. Something is always going on in Mexico, people talking, socializing, Markets, Kids trying to sell anything to the gringo (you) honking, everything is disorganized nothing is in place, traffic jams during rush hours etc. the trip from the airport to your house or condo if unprepared will make it into a nightmare. Yes all these things will happen its just an everyday thing in Mexico, and you will get used to it but you need to expect it.
Mexico is very different from the States right away you need to start socializing. As soon as you get situated, go over to your neighbors house and introduce yourself. ask their name and open yourself for anything, Most than likely you will get an invitation for a mexbbq for questions and answers, Same for you, never know who lives next to you might be a Politician, ro someone who knows somebody. Great way to build rapport and it will open doors for favors in the future.
Favors in Mexico are common, In the U.S. doing a favor for somebody is uncommon it is seen as a weakness, that people would rather throw moeny at it. In Mexico offer your specialties or ideas for free most than likely they wont take it but it seems as a gesture of friendship therefore you expect the same.
